GRAHAM RUDDICK

All my life I have been fascinated by light and how it provokes stories and imagination. I have been drawing or creating colour since an early age - including a spell as a semi-professional stage lighting designer. My real interest in painting was sparked when I trained with Dina Southwell in Essex. I move between landscapes, still life paintings and abstracts. Each is its own challenge and pleasure.

My main ambition is to give a sense of narrative and movement to the images I create; often trying to recapture moments caught on the move. I now work extensively in digital media. It allows huge freedom and the ability to experiment freely. There's a complete joy to be found in discovering how light interacts with light!​
